About this Assessment:

Part 1:  With Counters
The goal is to determine if the student knows parts of numbers quickly, without counting to figure them out.
Part 2:  No Counters
The goal is to find out which number combinations the students knows quickly when no materials are used.

 Student knows all quickly and makes no errors.  Assess student without models next.
 P+
Knows all but 1 problem quickly, no errors, no counting all.  Student may count back or use relationships for 1 combination. 
Figures out 2 or more. May have 1 error, may not count all.  
 P-
Counts all for up to half of the combinations, may have 1 error.  

May have 2 errors, counts all for more than half.
 
Student makes 3 or more errors or guesses.
